You can’t plagiarize yourself … can you?
A time will come when you feel like you’ve exhausted a topic. Instead of racking your brain for a new topic, however, look at your old content to see if it could be reused.
Nope, it’s not cheating – there are at least 3 reasons to recycle old content.
Oh! Caveat: don’t just republish content. Update it so it reflects the current trends and offers still-relevant information.
It Saves Time
If you need content quickly (or are just losing time to writer’s block), reusing content saves the day.
It Reboots Old Conversations
Find a piece of content with a lot of comments. Address the comments, answer the questions, and get another conversation started.
It Drives New Traffic to Your Site
Relevant content may have fallen off the radar – update the keywords, add new links, re-title it, and attract new visitors.
You can’t avoid creating new content forever, but recycling old content is beneficial in more ways than one.
