A keyword is a word or phrase that someone types into a search engine such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing to find your website. Say for instance I wanted to buy a car, I would go to a search  engine and type “Cars for sale”, and this would be considered a keyword phrase.

A keyword phrase can be very descriptive and even consist of demographic information to be more specific. For example a specific keyword for your area would consist of, “Cars for sale in Charlotte North Carolina.” Knowing which keywords will attract a prospective customer is not easy, and some professionals even consider it a science. There are specific companies like us that specialize in keyword research.
